I invite you to pray, along with me, the following prayers for the world that God has laid on my heart.

There is power in any one person’s prayer, but there is even more power in the combined intent of shared prayer. Our world is in a crisis, but God still is God. He still sits on the throne and has allowed all the things going on in this world for a reason. I believe that part of the reason might be to call people to reach beyond themselves and human institutions, to the only One who can get us through all this.

So please join me in praying these short prayers. My suggestion is that you choose a specific time each day to play my recording by clicking on this link, and pray along with me, out loud, as you read the prayer below.

Dear God, you who are Light in whom there is no darkness at all, you who created the universe and now sustain it with the power of your might, hear our prayer.

Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly ask for your forgiveness and your power to change our ways.

We pray that you would shine your light into every corner of the world, to expose evil, to reveal truth and highlight the good, to heal, and to guide our feet in the paths of peace.

We pray that you would awaken in people everywhere a thirst for the truth, a love for the truth, and that they would seek it, and recognize it when they see it.

Heavenly Father, Lord of all, in your love and grace have mercy on us and heal us, and in your power thwart evil wherever it rears its head.

Finally, reveal to each person your divine design. May each of us know very specifically our particular part in carrying out these very requests, and give us the strength, the courage, and the love to do what you’re calling each of us to do.

Amen.

I believe I am seeing answers to these prayers since I have started praying them months ago. I invite you to join me, and to share your answers.

Distorted Thinking Running Rampant

Posted by: | Comments (0)

The events rocking the world at this time, especially the U.S., are staggering.

I have felt deep pain in my heart space over all that is happening. So much pain, loss, heartbreak. Evil exposed (this is a good thing, but so difficult to witness). Injustice and violence.

The latter two especially make me feel physically ill. I learned recently that there’s a name for this stress that can affect us even physically, that feels almost like post-traumatic stress. It’s the pain that stems from taking in the energy of a tumultuous world (and, for people of color, the energy of passive and active discrimination and racism), and it now has a name: “emotional inflammation.” You can listen to a podcast about this here, or check out the book by Dr. Lise Van Susteren and Stacey Colino here. It helped me to understand how much we are all affected by what’s going on in the world.

(For the 20% with the trait of High Sensitivity, emotional inflammation is almost unavoidable; we take in so much more, and process it at such a deep level.)

The problem is, there are many narratives out there. So many nuances to an issue. So many people twisting the facts to fit their own narrative (or ignoring key facts). I feel mentally and emotionally exhausted just thinking about making my way through all of it to the truth.

But I am committed to doing so, through prayer, as God leads. I want to be part of the solution, not the problem.

One thing I notice, among the maelstrom of media, social and otherwise, is how rampant the dysfunctional thinking is behind so much of the narratives. When a friend sent me a link to a very helpful graphic on “unhelpful thinking styles,” I began to apply it not only to my life, but to what I was hearing and reading. Read More→

Heal Yourself As Well as the Collective?

Posted by: | Comments (0)

I am seeing an interesting phenomenon with my clients and friends, especially those with the trait of High Sensitivity: it seems like somehow we are all taking on a bit of the overall energetic “spillage” from all that’s going on in the world right now.

How this shows up in clients varies, but many of us are feeling things like “heartache, anxiety, grief” as well as the fear, loss of control, etc.

Some clients are finding that issues, including physical issues, that had been healed before are now showing up again. Others are finding it hard to pinpoint any memories of their own, but they nonetheless feel some sort of generalized and/or anticipatory negative feelings.

I believe what’s happening is we are experiencing what authors Dr. Elise Van Sustenan and Stacey Colino call “Emotional Inflammation.”

There may be a very positive side to this, though. I think that as we heal ourselves, we are also in some way contributing in a very real way to the healing of the collective. To the extent that we’re tapping into that, is the extent to which our own healing will help the world.

If all you feel you can do right now is focus on your own healing, that’s OK. Doing just that is making a contribution that may be much more than more “concrete” acts of service.

And if you would like some personalized coaching, check out HealingCodesCoaching.com. The Healing Codes and Immanuel Prayer are exactly what is needed for this issue.

5G is Coming: For Better–or Worse?

Posted by: | Comments (0)

The 2019 5G Crisis Summit was possibly the most important summit I ever attended or bought. It educated me on the preponderance of research about the dangers of this new technology that is rolling out all over the world without any testing whatsoever on its safety.

Well, I somehow received an email that had nothing to do with that concern. No, this was an investment letter, talking about what 5G is going to do for us. How it will totally revolutionize the whole world. How it will make all our current smartphones obsolete because they won’t have the special chip needed to link it to the amazing new 5G network. (Get ready to spend another $1000 for a new phone if you want to buy into the whiz-bang of this new technology.)

The letter was actually a sales letter for an investment newsletter that tells you how to invest in this upcoming technology. You can get the full scoop here. (Mind you, I am NOT advocating this in any way, but if you’re curious about what advocates of 5G are saying, you might want to take a gander. If you don’t want to view the video, you can choose the transcript and just skim it.)

They are saying that “by year’s end, nine of the ten largest cities in America should have 5G wireless service.” (It’s already in Chicago and Minneapolis.) By Christmas, nearly all 328 million Americans will be able to use wireless 5G. And that’s just in the United States.

Now here’s the part that made me say, “Whaaat?” They say that this revolutionary technology with revamp the healthcare system. Not only will you be able to wear technology that can monitor your heart rate and rhythm, your blood sugar, and much more. (Hmmm. I wonder who will be able to gain access to that personal information?) They are saying that “Hologram technology would let a doctor visit you right in your home, without going to the hospital” and that “5G would let us do robotic surgery with zero delay, even from thousands of miles away.”

Hmmm. It will also shave off a lot more time from, say, downloading a movie. Instead of the current 2 minutes it now takes with current technology (which, by the way, is 4G in most areas), it will take ONLY 3.7 SECONDS! Wow! You can save 116 seconds! It will only take .6 seconds to download an hour-long playlist instead of the 20 seconds it currently takes. (Click the image below to see the cool animation.)

You can save more than 19 seconds on that download with this amazing technology that may cause you untold health problems! (But that won’t matter, because you can contact your doctor any time without having to get into your car, which very soon will be driverless thanks to 5G.)

Well, you might want to watch that investment letter pitch after all. Then you can maybe invest in the revolutionary technology that will for sure revolutionize our lives and, if the scientists and other experts interviewed in the 5G Summit are correct, wreck our health.

There’s real concern here, and if the concerns are real, then the time is short–we must act now! That’s why I’m go glad they will re-air the entire 5G Crisis Summit–with updating material–for free viewing June 1-7.

Sign up for the 5G Crisis Summit here, and get started on reading and listening to the registration gifts. I bought the seminar package last year, and was blown away by the breadth and depth of experts, and what I learned. I was also impressed by the positive focus. It’s not all gloom and doom, but we do need to educate ourselves and act!

I recently saw a chilling video report from Nick Penault, author of The Non-Tinfoil Guide to EMF, about how most of the current (affordable) meters are blind to high-frequency radiation including 5G and satellites. If you were depending on your EMF meter to know whether you were safe, you were probably wrong. View the video here.

And if you think that this 5G concern is just a rant from “conspiracy theorists,” check out this Scientific American article entitled, “We Have No Reason to Believe 5G is Safe,” published on October 17, 2019.

As I write this, many people from all over the world have been “sheltering in place,” to one degree or another, for at least a month.

In that time, we have all been thrown into collective grief and shock, because the changes have happened so swiftly, so totally.

Every aspect of our lives have changed—forever.

Things will never be the same.

We need to grieve that. There are some days when grief looms large indeed for me.

Grief not only for what I’ve lost, but as a Highly Sensitive empath, I also feel the pain of countless others who are suffering.

Suffering the loss of loved ones. Loss of work. Loss of a business into which they have poured themselves.

And I can’t even think of the children who are abused, trapped in homes with parents who formerly could not bear the stress, and who now are at the breaking point.

Or other victims of domestic violence.

For everyone, a way of life has been changed forever, more or less, in one way or another.

How do we cope? Is there any way to come out of this crisis stronger?

I believe there is. If we can embrace the hidden invitations of this strange time, we will develop strengths that we can bring into the “new normal” we will soon, we hope, be able to forge.

What we need is resilience. Here are two steps  to develop your resilience.

Step One: Find the Joy Amid the Suffering

The first hidden invitation, and a big part of the healing process, is to learn to find joy even in the midst of the suffering.

Joy? In the midst of suffering? Is that possible? Read More→

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I hardly ever promote products (other than summits).

That’s because, frankly, I have to get that “click in my spirit” that tells me there’s something really special about this, before I can really get behind it.

That’s only happened a few times in my life. Each time, the results have been significant–for me and for others.

It happened when I first heard about The Healing Codes. Result: thousands of people helped to heal through the book I helped Dr. Alex Loyd publish, and the clients I’ve personally coached.

It happened when I heard about Immanuel Prayer, and got trained. Result: an ongoing, unbelievable personal connection with Jesus Christ, and many people I’ve facilitated experiencing the same thing.

It happened with the Halo. Result: I and many of my clients who bought it got healthier.

It happened when I signed up for a coaching program for Highly Sensitive Entrepreneurs. Result: business miracles are already happening for me, as I’m learning tools to move me toward using my HS strengths (and developing some of my own–for you!). Side note: If you are Highly Sensitive and self-employed, or want to be, sign up here so I can keep you posted on resources that will help you, too, thrive.

It happened when I signed up for Julie Bjelland’s course and Sensitive Empowerment group. Result: the skills I’m learning to use to move from HS coping to HS thriving have been life-changing—for me and my clients.

These are the few products that have produced a “click in my spirit.” As I come across more, I will add them here.  If you have signed up for my Healing Heart Issues Weekly Digest, you’ll hear about them! Here are my further, more objective criteria for what I recommend.

Gifts from My Mentors

Posted by: | Comments (1)

From Thanksgiving to Christmas, I like to acknowledge the people who have enriched my life during the past year.

This includes, of course, my personal friends and colleagues. But you don’t know them. You can know and benefit from some of my “virtual mentors,” and those are the ones I want to tell you about.

As I reflected on those whose work has enriched either my spirit, soul, mind or body through sharing their expertise, several people came to mind.

Spirit. The most influential–and healing–approach I have ever come across is the Immanuel Approach, developed by Dr. Karl Lehman, a psychiatrist and the author of Outsmarting Yourself and The Immanuel Approach (which we Immanuel Prayer ministers, and he, refer to as “the big lion book” because it’s exhaustive at 759 pages!). From Outsmarting Yourself, I learned about “implicit memory” and how we get triggered, and how to calm body and mind. Dr. Karl Lehman’s work is all about how to let God come in and be with you in the pain, and thus heal it.

I was trained by Margaret Webb and Jessie Handy from Alive and Well in Immanuel Prayer, and continued with training from Dr. Karl Lehman through his Advanced Training seminar and monthly meetings in which local prayer ministers gather to watch and discuss a video of Dr. Lehman facilitating someone in Immanuel Approach. I also meet every other week with other prayer ministers to give and receive Immanuel Prayer. Read More→

Light Bulbs a Danger–Really?

Posted by: | Comments (0)

I’ve been taking Ari Whitten’s excellent Energy Blueprint course (go here for the free Masterclass), and one of the suggestions for balancing circadian rhythms and getting better sleep is to use incandescent light bulbs with more of the warmer light frequency spectrum.

Blue and green light frequencies shut down melatonin, that crucial hormone that not only signals the body to get good sleep, but is the most powerful antioxidant on the planet.

Well, it turns out that getting regular, old-fashioned incandescent light bulbs is not so easy.

California actually bans the sale of them (since 2018).  It’s unclear whether stores in other states will continue to stock them as of January 1, 2020. New efficiency standards that would have, in essence, phased out incandescent light bulbs were set to go into effect then, but those restrictions were weakened in Sept. 2019. This article gives a good explanation of the latest on the status of the EISA (Energy Independence and Security Act). I am still hearing from our local hardware stores that they will not be carrying the regular incandescent light bulbs, but that may change. I’ve had trouble finding them on Amazon.

The recent darling of the lighting industry is the LED bulb. More energy efficient, and supposedly longer lasting (I have grave doubts about that, see the comments on the above link), but …  there is a dark side, as this Scientific American article points out. Apparently there are heavy metals such as lead, nickel and copper in the LED bulbs. Compact fluorescent light bulbs contain mercury. If you break either kind, you’re supposed to wear rubber gloves, a face mask, and throw away the broom you use to sweep it up!

The main reason I wanted to stick with the older incandescent bulbs was because I want to cut down on exposure to blue and green light at night. My research uncovered that the lower the light is on the Kelvin scale, the less blue light there is. The old-fashioned incandescent light bulbs actually have fire in them, as you can see from the picture, and the orange-yellow spectrum actually helps the body move into rest mode.

Upshot: the “daylight” LED lights would be good for when you want to “wake up,” the “soft white” LED are better for places like the bedroom. Of course, all of us move throughout all our rooms throughout the day, so I guess the best alternative is to wear blue- and green-blocking glasses after sundown, such as Swannies or, even better, Safety Blue, because those also block green light, which interferes with melatonin as well. (Plus, what I like about the Safety Blue, is that they make a kind that can fit over prescription glasses. Just be sure when you order that you get the “fit over” kind. I mistakenly ordered the wrong ones at first, and got a chance to sample their customer service. Which was very good. If you want to save 17%, use coupon code EBLE2020 at checkout.) According to energy expert Ari Whitten, these are the only glasses on the market that also block green light.

CC BY by Natalia Medd

It’s not only the lighting in our homes that are a concern.  You may have to wear your blue-blocking glasses when you go outside at night, if your community has solid-state LED street lights, that intense blue light can also disrupt circadian rhythms. I think also some cars also use those intense blue LED lights. (They hurt my eyes!)

The bottom line, for me, is to get whatever light bulbs I can that are on the warmer side of the Kelvin scale. The labels should tell you. You want as “warm,” i.e. as low on the Kelvin scale, as possible, if you want to to block blue and green light. In my opinion, we get enough blue light from screens. At night I wear my blue and green-blocking glasses just to be safe, even though I have the warmer bulbs in most places in my home.

I sigh over all this. It seems the toxins are everywhere in our modern world. You just have to do the best you can, control what you can, and do whatever you can to keep your immune system strong and circadian rhythms as optimized as possible. I’m learning so much about how all these things interact, and will continue to share as I learn.

Important: Don’t let fear overtake you. A body at peace is a body that can heal or overcome just about everything. Heal the heart issues, do what you can to lessen the toxic load, and trust that God can and will protect you from the forces you can’t control. That’s where I find my peace, and I know you can, too.

And if you need some help finding what those heart issues are, consider getting some coaching at HealingCodesCoaching.com.

Update, 5/15/2021: I just discovered, through a neighbor on my local Nextdoor chat group, that the radiofrequency of certain kinds of LED light bulbs can interfere with the signals in your garage door remote. Further proof that LED light bulbs emit EMF (electromagnetic frequencies).

You apparently can get special LED lights for garage door openers, at a hardware store (you may have to ask), or Amazon.

The description for one of the products specifically says: “Eliminates Or Reduces Opener Remote Interference: Specifically designed for garage door openers and does not limit range of remotes like common LED and CFL bulbs.”

Who knew? Now you do.

Train Your Brain Away from Pain

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Posture and movement specialist Sukie Baxter was interviewed by Julie Bjelland for Julie’s Sensitive Empowerment group, and I thought what Sukie said about pain was fascinating.

Sukie said if you are not in touch with your body and attuned to its signals, your nervous system can develop a sort of tunnel vision that begins to only recognize pain signals. That then pulls you into a negative loop, where the pain activates the Sympathetic Nervous System (fight/flight/freeze) response), which then makes the pain more pronounced, so that you focus even more on the pain–and so the negative loop goes.

What is the way out? Read More→

Your Personal Trainer for the Brain

Posted by: | Comments (0)

I recently attended Julie Bjelland’s class, “7 Steps to Embody the Gifts of Your Sensitivity” and I have to say, it has caused some major positive shifts in me.

Rarely has anything had this kind of effect on me so quickly. Putting into practice just a couple of Julie’s suggestions has also helped my husband (who is also Highly Sensitive). So I just have to tell you about this.

Julie calls herself a “personal trainer for the brain,” and it’s refreshing to see her science-based approach. In the first class, Julie explained how the HSP’s brain is different (more activity in amygdala and insula, which is why we process things so deeply, feel and perceive everything), and how to activate the calming centers in the brain.

She gave us very specific but easy things to do to “drain the container” of all we take in–which is much more than non-HSPs. She explained why we need to process our experiences, how to do that–and what will happen if we don’t. Read More→
