What Lies Are You Believing?

By

Everyone believes lies.

It’s endemic to current human nature. In the Judaeo-Christian worldview, it started with Adam and Eve, the first humans, when they were tempted in the Garden of Eden and believed Satan’s lie. Ever since, we’ve believed lies, to our own (and often others’) destruction.

The sad thing is, many of the lies we’re believing—about ourselves, God, other people, the world—actually formed when we were very young, even before the age of 6, psychologists tell us.

Something happens to us, we interpret it in some (negative) way, often erroneously because after all, we were too young to know much or to reason, and we believe the interpretation.

Often for the rest of our lives.

Example: let’s say you were punished for something as a child, and you didn’t understand what it was that you did wrong. Perhaps you had an emotionally unstable parent who would punish you at a whim, so that sometimes you were punished and sometimes not for the same behavior. Little 4-year-old you might easily have come to believe that you were just a bad person and deserving of punishment, at any time. That is the “truth” that your heart comes to believe, the “truth” that rules you unconsciously.

What would this lead to? Fear, anxiety, being as “good” a child as you can be so as to not to invoke the wrath of adults.

I have had many clients who wrestle with just this scenario.

Now, adult you may not realize what it going on. All you know is that you push yourself, you try very hard to fit in, and somehow it’s not working too well. You have digestive issues, perhaps, or struggle with depression.

The healing comes, always, when the lie is exposed to the light, seen for what it is, and the Truth comes to replace the lie at a deep level.

I believe the power of The Healing Codes lies in uncovering the lies that we’ve come to believe, along with the attached emotions and memories, and replacing it with the Truth.

How do we find out what lies we’re really believing, since it’s often so hidden from our view?

Here are two of the most effective ways I’ve found.

With The Healing Codes, we look for whatever issue is disturbing your peace currently. Maybe it’s a health issue, or a relationship issue, or something going wrong in your career.

Once you identify the issue, you look at how you feel about having that issue. Does it make you feel sad, angry, depressed? Where are those feelings in your body? As you tune in to your body, allow yourself to ask, When have I ever had this same sensation before?

We go with the physical sensation because that is the best way to trigger a memory. Sometimes the original memory, from which we formed the lie we believe subconsciously, comes from preverbal times. If this is the case, you might have a sense that it was from when you were very little, even if you have no specific memory.

Once you have a sense of a memory (and sometimes, you have no clear sense of a memory—that’s OK), you can focus on the thoughts around either the memory or your current issue. This moves you further toward identifying the lie you may be believing.

Challenge the belief, without judging it. You can gently ask yourself, Is that really true? Am I really a bad person because I spilled milk all over the floor and broke my mother’s favorite glass when I was four years old? Did she really have to spank me so hard for that?

It may be uncomfortable to see your parent in a different light than you always have, but try to accept the discomfort. Let your adult self bring some compassion to Little Wrong You. If you are so inclined, you might pray for God to show you the Truth, or even the lie you’ve been believing if you need help identifying that.

When you do your Healing Code, put in the prayer of intention the feelings, beliefs, and memories you want to heal. Then, when you point to the healing centers for your Code, remind yourself of the Truth. Let yourself feel compassion toward Little You. The Healing Code helps the energy transfer from negative to positive as you “infuse” the Truth each time you do your Healing Code.

Another way to find and heal the lies your heart is believing is to participate in an Immanuel Connection call. I guide you to a positive encounter with Immanuel (“God with us,” another name for Jesus), and ask him what lie you are believing and what the truth is. Then I give you a custom Healing Code to address the lie and infuse the Truth.

If this interests you, go here to find out more and sign up. The calls are held on the first Tuesday of the month, at 11:30 a.m. Central Time. (October call will be on October 8, though.)

The Immanuel Connection will not only help you heal faster (another name for Jesus is “Wonderful Counselor”), it will deepen your relationship with him. It is one of the foundations of my spiritual life, and that of many others. I am the only one on the planet who combines Immanuel Prayer with a custom Healing Code—at the beginning of the call to remove any blocks to receiving all Jesus has for you, and then at the end, to energetically change the lies to truth with a custom Healing Code.

I love the way one person describes it: “God replacing the pictures in the art gallery of our minds, removing pictures that do not have Jesus in them and replacing them with pictures that do.”
